Cupid is busy in Umbria

Guests of Le Torri di Bagnara, a 1500-acre castled estate and working farm in Umbria, are invited to take along a Kiss Spot label to tag places they deem irresistibly romantic. For those romantics who cannot live on love alone, a hashtag (#kissinestate) has been developed so they can send a selfie of a kiss with their beloved to share with social media friends.

Le Torri’s amore-minded owner Zenaide Giunta came up with the idea after guests pointed out to her amorous hot spots among the weathered benches, ancient trees, flower-bordered lakes and old stone cottages that dot the historic property. “If you look at our video,” she said, “you’ll see why this painterly landscape is so conducive to love.”

We’re revealing five of the Top Kiss Spots, but why not chance upon your own….

garden path

KISS SPOT #1 A garden is a perfect spot for a dalliance, especially one with a mossy, old stone path running beside it – the primrose path, perhaps?

one of the bagnara estate lakes

KISS SPOT#2 How does he love you? Let him count the ways – with a little help from a shimmery lake bordered by daisies. A great place to slip on a ring and seal it with a kiss.

hills
KISS SPOT#3 The hills may be old, but they’re alive with an infinite variety of green. From the terrace, breathe in the fresh air, remove those sunglasses, pucker up…and get out your iPhone.

picnic
KISS SPOT #4 Pack a flirty picnic Omar Khayyam would approve of – “A loaf of bread, a jug of wine, and thee beside me in the wilderness.” Add honey harvested from Le Torri’s farm, some local cheese and good prosciutto and set out your spread. Post-picnic is playtime. Ah, wilderness!

secular olive tree
KISS SPOT #5 Ramble hand in hand over the fields and flower-embroidered meadows. Steal a kiss behind this 100-year-old gnarly olive tree and fall in love all over again.
