Located in Umbria border Tuscany, a few km north of Assisi and Perugia,conveniently close to Siena and Cortona, almost equidistant between Rome and Florence, this peaceful estate is a haven for the mind and the senses and makes a tailor-made base for the best stay in central Italy.
The owners, counts Giunta Tremi, are great grand-nephews of Napoleon Bonaparte I and the estate has been in their family since 1901. You’ll be well looked after by the warmth and hospitality of the family and their multilingual friendly team.
The main villa, Pieve San Quirico castle (11th century historic house), is a stylish medieval castle, surrounded by a courtyard with an octagonal tower,beautifully renovated and made into a private house. It has been restored according to the highest standard of renovation and design to create a luxury villa with 7 bedrooms and 9 bathrooms with breathtaking views around it and in total privacy. The early settlement of the castle dates back to the 11th century. In the 13h century architects of the court of emperor Frederick II of Swabia enlarged it and made it as it now appears. Outside, you’ll find panoramic terraces, dining areas, gardens rich in flowers, fruit and olive trees, a large infinity salt water pool (120 sqm ), with fantastic hillside views, stone BBQ and children’s playground. There is even a beautiful church (seats 70), perfect for tying the knot should the fancy take you ! You may also go walking and biking through the several walking and biking trails that crisscross the estate, dotted with picnic areas .
Four apartments set in the Tower (11th century historic house), just up the hill are available for large groups on request (15 extra beds).
The beautiful Castello di Bagnara (11th- 15th century historic house), with a 2,5-acre monumental park, set on the valley, has been the private residence of Counts Giunta Tremi since 1901. From 2015, the owners will be pleased to make it available as a very exclusive location for unique weddings and events.
The surroundings are completely rural and tranquil but Guests have the convenience of the village, bar, shops, restaurants and sport centre being only five minutes drive away. An excellent and challenging Golf course (18 hole), designed by Robert Trent Jones jr., is only ten minutes drive away.
